How are companies verified on the Experts du Patrimoine directory?
Updated in August 2026 — Written by Les Experts du Patrimoine
Profiles submitted directly by professionals
Most profiles in the directory are submitted directly by the professionals or firms concerned. Wealth management advisers, financial investment advisers, asset management companies, brokers, insurance agents, family offices, lawyers and other specialist firms can request the creation of a profile presenting their activities, expertise and contact details.
This approach allows professionals to describe their services accurately and update their information when their business changes. However, submitting a profile does not mean that the information is published automatically.
Several checks are carried out before a profile is approved for publication.
Verification of the company’s legal existence in France
The first step is to verify the legal existence of the company or professional practice.
In particular, we check whether the firm has a valid SIREN or SIRET number and whether it is correctly recorded in the relevant French administrative registers.
The SIREN is a unique nine-digit identification number assigned to a business or legal entity in France. The SIRET identifies a specific establishment operated by that business. These identifiers make it possible to confirm that the company legally exists and can be identified within the French administrative system.
This verification provides an essential first filter against non-existent organisations, incorrectly identified firms and clearly inconsistent information.
Verification of ORIAS registration
Many wealth management professionals in France operate under regulated statuses, particularly when providing financial investment advice, insurance intermediation or banking and payment services.
For these activities, registration with ORIAS—the official French register of intermediaries in insurance, banking and finance—is generally compulsory.
When a profile is created or updated, we may verify that the professional or company is registered with ORIAS and that the registration is consistent with the activities declared in the directory.
Depending on the services provided, the regulated statuses displayed may include:
Financial Investment Adviser (Conseiller en investissements financiers or CIF);
Insurance Intermediary (Intermédiaire en assurance or IAS);
Banking and Payment Services Intermediary (Intermédiaire en opérations de banque et en services de paiement or IOBSP);
Other regulated statuses applicable to financial intermediaries in France.
These checks help users understand the regulatory framework within which a professional operates. This can be particularly useful for international residents who may not be familiar with French professional statuses and registrations.
Verification of regulatory authorisations
Some professionals listed in the directory may also hold authorisations or approvals issued by French regulatory authorities.
This notably applies to certain asset management companies and investment firms supervised or authorised by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the French financial markets authority.
When this information is publicly available, it may be checked against the relevant official sources to confirm that the authorisation or regulatory status mentioned on the profile is consistent with public records.
The exact regulatory requirements vary according to the professional’s activities. A wealth management adviser, broker, lawyer, notary and asset management company do not operate under the same rules or supervisory authorities.
Identification of professional associations
Many wealth management professionals belong to recognised professional associations or representative organisations.
These organisations may contribute to the supervision of their members, provide professional training and support compliance with regulatory and ethical requirements. In France, membership of an authorised professional association may also form part of the framework applicable to certain regulated activities.
When this information is publicly available, a professional’s association or organisation may be displayed on their profile. This can include organisations representing wealth management advisers, financial investment advisers, insurance intermediaries, finance professionals or property specialists.
This information provides visitors with an additional indication of the professional environment in which the adviser or firm operates.
Integration of Google reviews
Some profiles may also display the company’s Google rating and publicly available reviews.
These reviews offer an additional overview of feedback published by clients or business partners. They do not replace your own assessment, a direct conversation with the professional or an examination of their proposed services, fees and regulatory information.
Google reviews should therefore be considered as one indicator among others rather than as a guarantee of the quality or suitability of the advice provided.
Regular and random checks
In addition to the checks performed when a profile is created, periodic or random checks may be carried out on selected listings.
These checks may include:
Contacting the firm by email;
Contacting the firm by telephone;
Requesting confirmation or correction of information;
Reviewing publicly available company data;
Checking regulatory registrations or professional statuses;
Confirming that contact details and business activities remain current.
These checks help maintain the consistency and accuracy of the directory over time.
What does verification mean?
Verification means that certain information displayed in a profile has been compared with company details, official registers, regulatory databases or other publicly available sources.
However, the publication or verification of a profile does not constitute certification, a recommendation or a guarantee by Les Experts du Patrimoine. It does not guarantee the future performance of an investment, the quality of personalised advice or the suitability of a professional for your particular circumstances.
Before appointing a professional, you should discuss your needs directly with them and review their regulatory status, services, fees, experience and contractual documentation. If you live outside France, are moving to France or hold assets in several countries, you should also confirm that the professional has the appropriate experience to address your international circumstances.
A directory designed to remain reliable
Our aim is to provide a clear, transparent and useful directory that helps individuals, families and business owners identify wealth management professionals throughout France.
Despite the checks carried out, some information may become outdated or require correction. Firms change their activities, contact details and areas of expertise. Regulatory registrations, authorisations and professional memberships may also evolve.
We therefore encourage listed professionals to review and update their profiles regularly and to notify us of any significant change.
Have you noticed an error or inconsistency?
If you identify incorrect information, an inconsistency or a detail that appears to require further verification, please contact Les Experts du Patrimoine.
Reports from users contribute directly to improving the quality of the directory and maintaining a high standard of accuracy and transparency.
Our objective is simple: to provide a reliable and accessible directory of wealth management professionals in France, helping French and international visitors navigate a sector that can sometimes appear complex.
